A health seminar Teikyo Kenko Hiroba "Protect your life from disasters!" was held atItabashi Campus.

Teikyo Kenko Hiroba Health Lecture was held at Teikyo University's Itabashi Campus on Saturday, March 1, 2025. This lecture is held twice a year as an open lecture by faculty members from the Department Department of Nursing, Faculty of Medical Technology, with the aim of providing local residents with tips for living a healthy life.
This time, the theme was "Protect your life from disasters!" and seven people who have experienced disasters or are interested in disasters participated. Professor Yuko Miki of the Department Department of Nursing Faculty of Medical Technology University of Tsukuba, explained the importance of creating a "timeline" to determine the actions to be taken in the event of a disaster, and the importance of checking hazard maps in advance to identify areas expected to be affected and evacuation sites. Participants were then asked to think about what they would need during an evacuation and for life in evacuation shelters.
Junko Tabata, Senior Assistant Professor Department of Nursing at the Faculty of Medical Technology, explained what to do if you are unable to wash your hands with soap and running water at an evacuation shelter, as well as the amount of medicine you should bring with you. She also demonstrated how to make a lantern, which is useful in the event of a power outage. Finally, participants shared their experiences during disasters, providing a good opportunity to raise awareness of disaster preparedness.
In addition to health lectures held twice a year, Teikyo Kenko Hiroba also offers health consultations once a month (on the third Wednesday of the month from 12:30 to 14:30). The department will continue to take steps to help promote the health of local residents.
