A research group led by Professor Katayama of the Liberal Arts Center has succeeded in synthesizing a functional cyclic glycopeptide, which is a key component of next-generation biopharmaceuticals.

On Saturday, March 15, 2025, Professor Hidekazu Katayama of the Teikyo University Liberal Arts Center, in collaboration with Professor Osamu Kanie of the Department of Bioengineering, Faculty of Engineering, Tokai University, and others, succeeded in synthesizing a cyclic peptide consisting of 28 amino acids and confirmed that it has a certain degree of macrophage activation ability.

The results of this research were published in the online express edition of the Journal of the American Chemical Society on Friday, March 14, 2025 (Eastern Time).
