On Wednesday, February 12, 2025, the SYMPO in Japan 2025 marathon was held in Shinjuku, Tokyo, and Takayuki Nakano, head coach of the Teikyo University Ekiden (Road Relay) Club took the stage at a special commemorative talk show.
This symposium discussed the significance of hosting marathons from the perspectives of government ministries, manufacturers, and event organizers, including methods for running marathons across the country, sharing event announcements, and case studies of marathons held as tourism resources and for regional development. The final program featured a special commemorative talk show, featuring four coaches from our university, Josai University, Toyo University, and Rikkyo University, who looked back on the fierce Hakone Ekiden, where their respective universities competed fiercely. The event was packed with exciting content, including each coach's planned race and actual results, coaching the athletes, future team prospects, and notable athletes for the 2025 season. Our university's Ekiden (Road Relay) Club will continue to work to promote and develop track and field as a lifelong sport.
