Associate Professor Uno's research group has elucidated a new inter-organ network mechanism for liver zonation

On Saturday, January 25, 2025, a research group led by Kenji Uno, Associate Professor of the Department of School of Medicine Internal Medicine Studies, Teikyo University, collaborated with Hideki Katagiri, Professor of the Department of Diabetes Metabolism and Endocrin Internal Medicine ology, Graduate School of Medicine, Tohoku University Graduate School, and Hiroaki Honda, Professor of the Institute of Experimental Animals, Tokyo Women's Medical University. Using animal models (genetically modified model mice), we clarified the existence and mechanism of a new inter-organ network mechanism that controls systemic glucose metabolism and body composition originating in the liver.
The results of this research were published in the international online scientific journal "PLOS Biology" on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 2 p.m. (EST).
