Ninomiya Co., Ltd. began selling halal food at the Soratio Kitchen on Teikyo University's Hachioji Campus Campus on Monday, November 18, 2024. Halal food refers to food permitted to be eaten according to Islamic law, including vegetables, fruits, grains, and seafood.
In order to begin serving halal food on campus, the university and students have been working together to exchange opinions, holding halal food tastings and meetings with Ginza Suehiro as an opportunity to hear directly from students. The introduction of meals that have been given the halal certification mark will enable Muslim students to live campus life with peace of mind. Muslim students have expressed their joy, saying, "We are very grateful that we can now eat on campus."
Teikyo University will continue to implement the SDGs principle of "leaving no one behind" in order to create an environment where students can live comfortably, taking into consideration cultural and religious differences.
