Department of Radiological Technology students receive training in radiation technology in Taiwan

On Monday, November 4th and Tuesday, November 5th, 2024, students and faculty from the Department of Radiological Technology Faculty of Medical Technology, Teikyo University, participated in a radiation technology training course at I-Shou University (Kaohsiung, Taiwan).
An MOU was signed with the university's Department of Radiology in March 2024, and this training aimed to further deepen personal exchanges between the two universities. Students from our university visited I-Shou University, observing the facilities, classes, and the I-Shou University Hospital, an affiliated teaching hospital located on School of Medicine campus, and I-Shou University Cancer Center.

We also participated in the international conference (GCBME2024) held in Tainan City from November 1st (Friday) to 3rd (Sunday) of the same year, where five presentations were given in English. Suzuki Miumi (3rd year, Faculty of Medical Technology) and her colleagues won the Outstanding Award for their presentation titled "Shielding Effect and Evaluation Method of Scattered Radiation Protection Powder: Supervised Professor Otani Hiroki," while Kimura Koharu (2nd year, Graduate School of Medical Care and Technology) and her colleagues won the Excellent Award for their presentation titled "Studying a Structural Similarity Index for cGAN Using Tomosynthesis Reconstructed Images: Supervised by Professor Okamoto Takahide and Visiting Professor Chen Tai-po." radiological technologist Teikyo University Hospital Hospital and I-Shou University radiological technologist also gave presentations at the conference, leading to exchanges between our university and I-Shou University at the venue.

It is hoped that exchanges between the two schools will continue to develop further in the future.
