Hachioji CampusDepartment of Tourism Management exhibited at Tourism EXPO Japan 2024 for the first time

The Department of Tourism Faculty of Economics Department of Tourism Management Teikyo University exhibited for the first time at Tourism EXPO Japan 2024, which was held at Tokyo Big Sight (Koto-ku, Tokyo) from Thursday, September 26th to Sunday, September 29th, 2024.

This event is one of the world's largest travel festivals, with exhibits from government tourism organizations, travel agencies, airline and railway companies, prefectures and municipalities, local tourism businesses, tourism facilities, and other industry participants from 80 countries, and this year's event recorded over 180,000 visitors. In the Academy Corner, which is one part of the event, many universities with tourism faculties and departments exhibited, and the event was bustling with visitors from the tourism industry, students aspiring to study tourism, and their families.

Our university's booth was staffed by all faculty members from the Department of Department of Tourism Management Faculty of Economics, and nearly 50 students in total, who were able to introduce the appeal of the department to a wide range of visitors, including the projects the department is working on in collaboration with local governments and seminar activities. For the students who participated as staff, it was a valuable opportunity to interact directly with leading practitioners and members of the public. Also visiting were Eijiro Yamakita, CEO of JTB; Akihito Sai, Chairman of the Japan Association of Travel Agents, all of whom have previously given lectures in the department's classes.
Teikyo University will continue to expand its opportunities to appeal to the business world, while also working to enrich Practical learning learning experiences of its students.
