A lecture by Mr. Benjamin of Borussia Dortmund was held atHachioji Campus

On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, Teikyo University Faculty of Economics Department of Business Administration Associate Professor hosted a lecture by Benjamin Wahl, Head of East Asia for the German soccer club Borussia Dortmund, in Takuya Tsukamoto's lecture, Introduction to Sports Management. The University signed an academic research partnership agreement with the club in June 2018, allowing our students to learn directly from Dortmund's management expertise.

The lecture was titled "The Current Situation and Challenges of Borussia Dortmund's (BVB) Asia Strategy as Seen through the Japan Tour 2024 (Osaka)," and featured Benjamin's thoughts on the Asian strategy, while Tomohiro Nishiwaki of SPORTFIVE, BVB's exclusive agent, spoke about his own experience in "sports sponsorship sales." Approximately 350 students from our university attended the lecture, which drew many questions. Afterwards, a lively discussion took place, facilitated by Associate Professor Tsukamoto.
Students who attended the lecture commented, "I learned that BVB puts a lot of effort into developing players and is a challenger at the forefront of Europe," "It was interesting to see how they collaborate with famous brands and manga to gain new fans and promote themselves," and "Through this lecture, I have become even more interested in the German Bundesliga and BVB, and I would like to participate in the training program."

Teikyo University will continue to provide Practical learning opportunities and strive to enrich the learning experiences of its students.
