Nagai Seminar Hachioji Campuswon the TABLE FOR TWO Award 2024 in the Menu and Drinks category.

On Friday, August 9, 2024, the awards ceremony for the TABLE FOR TWO Awards 2024, hosted by the nonprofit organization TABLE FOR TWO International (TFT), was held. The seminar of Teikyo University's Department of Economics Faculty of Economics Senior Assistant Professor Nagai, who won the Menu and Drinks category, attended the ceremony. TFT stands for "dining for two," and aims to simultaneously improve the health of both developed and developing countries by eliminating the dietary imbalance between obesity and other diet-related lifestyle diseases in developed countries and the hunger and malnutrition problems in developing countries. The TABLE FOR TWO Awards 2024, held this time, aimed to promote employee-participation in social contribution activities by sharing the menus offered by organizations that have implemented the TFT program and their TFT promotion efforts across organizational boundaries.
Nagai's seminar team worked with Ginza Suehiro to come up with and sell a menu titled "Festival TFT! - TFT Salmon Avocado Rice Bowl" for last year's university festival, Seishasai. The entry in the menu and drink category was highly praised for being student-led and achieving the highest sales ever for a TFT menu at the university. Nagoya Takuho (then a fourth-year student Faculty of Economics), who created the entry, commented, "Of course, we were happy that the menu we came up with was well-received, but even more so, we were happy to be able to give back to the many people who supported us. We will continue to work hard."
Nagai's seminar will continue to regularly offer TFT menus in the campus cafeteria, contributing to the achievement of the SDGs.
