The World Robot Olympiad Japan 2024 was held at Toyama City General Gymnasium on Saturday, August 24th and Sunday, August 25th, 2024, and RoboLab, an engineering club from Teikyo University's Utsunomiya Campus, won the Future Engineers division.
The competition is open to high school, university, and technical college students, and is a contest to compete in more advanced robot control. This year's competition theme is AI and self-driving robots, in which self-propelled robots use cameras to identify obstacles and walls while completing their missions. Three teams from our university's clubs participated: "Teikyo Robomecha," "Teikyo Robostar," and "Teikyo Robolab," with "Teikyo Robostar" taking the impressive victory. They have also been selected to represent Japan at the world championships to be held in Izmir, Turkey in November.
All of the students who participated in this tournament were first-year students, and we look forward to their continued success.
