Three faculty members from Teikyo University's Faculty of Education taught classes to third-year students at Showa Daiichi Gakuen High School from June 6th (Thurs) to 20th (Thurs), 2024. The classes were held as part of the Showa Daiichi Gakuen High School third-year students' "Exploration Program (Field: Education/Welfare)."
On the day, 14 students interested in the field of education visited our university's Hachioji Campus and took part in classes on themes such as "Picture books for infants and young children" taught by Professor Hiranuma Akiko of the Faculty of Education, "About art and crafts" taught by Faculty Senior Assistant Professor Obitsu Shigetake, and "The power of dialogue, the power of communication" taught by Faculty Professor Sakamoto Kiyoko. Each class included both lectures and workshops, and all students actively participated in the class formats that differed from high school classes, such as the high level of specialization of the classes and the incorporation of picture book readings and crafts. Teikyo University will continue to engage in high school-university collaboration activities in the future.
