Keisuke Ishiwata (5th year, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences) received the Outstanding Presentation Award at the 7th Freshers' Conference of the Japan Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences, held at Kitasato University Shirokane Campus on Saturday, June 15th and Sunday, June 16th, 2024.
The Japanese Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences is a leading interdisciplinary academic society in the field of pharmaceutical sciences. The conference was held as a forum for Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences students, Graduate School, and pharmacists who have just started their research to present their research results. Approximately 300 people attended the conference, and a total of 38 oral and poster presentations were awarded with the Outstanding Presentation Award.
Ishiwata gave a poster presentation entitled "Fundamental studies aimed at elucidating the mechanism of anti-tumor immunity induction by microbubbles and ultrasound," and was awarded the prize for his work, which demonstrated the possibility that activation of natural immunity through damage to cancer tissue using microbubbles and ultrasound may lead to the induction of anti-tumor immunity. After receiving the award, Ishiwata stated his aspirations, saying, "I hope that the results of this research will lead to the development of a new cancer immunotherapy, and I would like to continue to work hard on my research." We look forward to seeing more of Ishiwata's future success.
