On Wednesday, May 8, 2024, students from Teikyo Graduate School 's Graduate School of Teacher Education conducted emergency medical training at the Simulation Education and Research Center on the university's Itabashi Campus.
In this practical training, students learned basic life support under the guidance of Professor Ichiro Kaneko of the Faculty of School of Medicine as part of the School Life and Children's Health and Illness class, a common foundational subject (required) for Graduate School of Teacher Education. They used equipment to measure the accuracy of chest compressions to check their own techniques, and simulated various emergency situations that could occur in educational settings, allowing students and faculty to discuss how to act efficiently as a team. Participating students commented that they "learned more deeply than in the emergency life support training offered in educational settings."
Our university will continue to use Practical learning to cultivate human resources who can contribute more to society.
