Prof. Jeremy Cook, Vice-President Durham University, visits our university

From Monday, April 1st to Friday, April 5th, 2024, Jeremy Cook, Vice President of Durham University (UK), which has a MOU (International Exchange Agreement) with Teikyo University, visited our university.
He visited Japan to attend our 2024 Entrance Ceremony as an overseas guest, but on other days he also participated in various events at our Hachioji and Itabashi campuses.
At Hachioji Campus, after talking with faculty members Faculty of Language Studies who are implementing the Durham Study Abroad Program, the students participated in an orientation for the Department of Department of Global Japanese Studies, where they received words of congratulations and encouragement for their enrollment. Afterwards, they also toured the General Museum, MELIC, and Telaco facilities, providing a valuable opportunity to experience the learning environment at our university.
On Friday, April 5th, at the New Academic Year Commemoration International Lecture held at Itabashi Campus, he gave a lecture on the theme of "Student Mental Health," in which he talked about the growing mental health issues and their causes among students in the UK. Although the lecture was given in English, all the audience listened intently, and there was an active Q&A session after the lecture.
Through his visit, the understanding and collaboration between our university and Durham University has been further deepened. We will continue to strive to further broaden our collaboration with Durham University in order to further strengthen the relationship between our two universities.
