Nurturing Future Healthcare Leaders: Sakura Science Exchange Program 2022

From February 26, 2024 (Monday) to March 6, 2024 (Wednesday), the Sakura Science Invitation Program, a Japan-Asia Youth Science Exchange Program for FY2023, adopted by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), was implemented. Asia International Institute of Infectious Diseases Control, Teikyo University (ADC) accepted 12 trainees from Vietnam, including 9 doctors, 1 engineer and 2 researchers. The program was implemented by the Sakura Science Invitation Program for Japan-Asia Youth Science Exchange Program for fiscal year 2023.

This project aims to deepen exchanges between young people in Asia and Japan through science and technology, and is open to high school students, Graduate School, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and teachers under the age of 40 who are visiting Japan for the first time. This year, under the theme of "Strengthening the cooperative system with School of Medicine in infectious disease medical care and acquiring appropriate Safety Control Department control techniques," lectures on medical safety, microbiology courses, Pediatrics and We held hospital rounds by Department of Infection Control and Prevention and ME Department, training in the Pharmacy Department, and visits and tours of other medical institutions and off-campus facilities. In addition, at our university's Simulation Education and Research Center, all trainees received a cardiopulmonary resuscitation simulation training provided by the American Heart Association (AHA) and were able to obtain an AHA certificate. Through close collaboration between industry, government, and academia, ADC will continue to strive to serve as a bridge for deepening exchanges through science and technology between the youth of Asia and Japan, who will be responsible for the future.
