Kasumigaseki CampusSpecially Appointed Professor Tsuji held a creative writing/enthusiastic Tsuji seminar.

On Tuesday, January 16, 2024, the ``Creative Writing - Passionate Tsuji Seminar'' class was held at Teikyo University's Kasumigaseki Campus by Hitonari Tsuji, a specially appointed Professor at our university's Okinaga Research Institute. This course, which began in April 2023, is a creative writing class taught by Specially Appointed Professor Tsuji, an Akutagawa Prize-winning author, for students at our university who aspire to become writers. The students were selected from nearly 40 applicants based on essays written on 30 sheets of manuscript paper. Five students have been selected and are taking the course.

Professor The course has been held seven times over the past year, with students participating from Hachioji Campus and Special Director Tsuji Professor participating online from France, but this was the first time the class was held face-to-face. As Tsuji Professor answered the students' questions, which were always focused on the main points, they became more comfortable with each other and had a valuable experience. After the course, students commented, "Thanks to Mr. Tsuji, I felt that the way I perceive things in my daily life has broadened," "He made me think about what life is, and I felt my world expand," and "My impression of Mr. Tsuji face-to-face was ''mysterious'' in one word. It was interesting to hear his stories based on his experiences, such as how he incorporates the information he gathers into his works. I feel that I was able to grow through my work." These comments showed that the new style of class was very stimulating. This course will be continued in the next academic year, and we expect that the students will be able to further refine their writing activities. The university will continue to provide Practical learning opportunities for students to learn in a variety of fields.
