We are planning to renovate the Faculty of Faculty of Science and Engineering and establish new departments.

Teikyo University plans to renovate Faculty of Science and Engineering in April 2025, establishing the Department of Department of Integrated Science and Engineering (tentative name) and Department of Data Science (tentative name). The curriculum for current students and those entering in 2024 in the Faculty of Faculty of Science and Engineering will continue after 2025, and the current four departments in Faculty of Science and Engineering will be maintained until current students and those entering in 2024 graduate. Many of the new subjects offered in the new departments will be available to current students and those entering in 2024, further enhancing the curriculum for current students.

Department of Integrated Science and Engineering (tentative name)

The four departments in Faculty of Science and Engineering at Utsunomiya Campus (Department of Mechanical and Precision Systems, Department of Aerospace Engineering, Department of Information and Electronic Engineering, and Department of Biosciences) will be reorganized to form this new department. Four courses will be established: Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Course, Robotics and AI, Computer Science Course, and Environment and Biotechnology Course and students will gain a broad foundation in the fields of science and engineering before moving on to in-depth study of each specialized field.

Department of Data Science (tentative name)

We are planning to establish a new program at Itabashi Campus. Taking advantage of our strengths as a comprehensive university, students will learn data science related to medical and management data in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Economics. Building on the theoretical foundations of mathematics, statistics, and information engineering, we will utilize problem-solving learning methods to develop data scientists who are equipped with the ability to create valuable information from data and use it in decision-making.
