Lions Orthopedic Surgery Clinic will open on Monday, April 1, 2024
On Monday, April 1, 2024, Teikyo University (Chairman President: Yoshihito Okinaga, Headquarters: Itabashi-ku, Tokyo), Seibu Lions Co., Ltd. (President & CEO: Tsuyoshi Okumura, Headquarters: Tokorozawa City, Saitama Prefecture), and Athlete Med Co., Ltd. (President & CEO: Masayuki Ishishima, Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) collaborated to build the "Lions across from the Belluna Dome" Orthopedic Surgery Clinic" was completed in March this year and will open on Monday, April 1.
Our university entered into a sports medicine support partnership with the Seibu Lions in April 2023, with the aim of strengthening the sports medicine field to manage athlete conditioning and create an environment where each athlete can maximize their abilities. We have been collaborating since the 2023 season with the aim of ``preventing injuries,'' ``early recovery from injuries,'' and ``improving performance'' for athletes. Our university dispatches staff with various specialized fields from the Sports Medicine Science Center to the newly established ``High Performance Group'' within the Team Management Department of the Saitama Seibu Lions Baseball Team to help treat injuries and prevent injuries after returning to work. We comprehensively evaluate the opinions of specialized staff in each field and provide feedback on the optimal policy to players and staff. In addition, in terms of performance improvement, we have provided consistent support through the cycle of measuring and evaluating data from physical tests, and planning and executing training based on the results. High Performance Analysts are responsible for evaluating players' performance based on physical and motion analysis data, and in the future, they will check on fatigue and recovery from injury, and provide guidance on how to create conditions to compete in the full season. .
By opening a sports Orthopedic Surgery clinic at the home ground of the Saitama Seibu Lions, where the team doctor dispatched from our university will provide School of Medicine care, we will be able to provide more thorough support, and by utilizing the extensive know-how we have cultivated in the field of Associate Professor sports, we will also be able to provide medical services to local residents.Yuya(Hironari) and is managed by a team of four people, including a doctor specializing in sports injury treatment. Clinic days are 9:00 to 13:00 and 15:00 to 19:00 (until 18:00 on Saturdays), excluding Sundays and holidays.
We will work to provide the latest knowledge in the field of sports medicine, cultivated through collaboration between Teikyo University, Saitama Seibu Lions, and Athlete Med, not only to the team but also to the local community.
