Itabashi CampusStudent Volunteer from Teikyo's Medical Tech Faculty Wins National Recognition for Lifesaving Initiatives

On Thursday, February 8, 2024, the awards ceremony for the Student Volunteer Group Subsidy Program, a call for submissions of Student Volunteer Group Activity Reports, sponsored by the Student Support Center, was held. Among the 28 volunteer groups from universities across the country that applied, Daiki Tonooka (3rd year, Faculty of Medical Technology) of the ELS Study Group was recognized as an especially outstanding report. The ELS Study Group, to which Tonooka belongs, aims to improve the knowledge, skills, and ambition necessary for pre-hospital first aid, and is engaged in activities such as emergency scene simulation training and first aid awareness activities for local residents.

The activity report that won the award states that through the activities of the ELS Study Group, which provides first aid courses to local junior high school students, the students are using the knowledge and skills they learned at Teikyo University's Faculty of Medical Technology to help children who will be the leaders of the future understand the importance of life and to contribute to creating a city that is resilient to disasters.
