Hachioji CampusCommunity Harmony Unfolds at 'Rabbit and Tortoise Terrace' during Teikyo University's Seisha Festival

In a heartwarming display of community collaboration, the Ashizawa Seminar Faculty of Education at Teikyo University opened the doors to the whimsically titled "Rabbit and Tortoise Terrace" stall during the Seisha Festival on Saturday, October 14, 2023. Partnering with the nearby bakery, Usagi to Kame, the Ashizawa Seminar has been an integral part of the festival, offering freshly baked bread and beverages as part of their annual Community Engagement project. "Rabbit and Kame," managed by Trinite, a non-profit organization dedicated to job support for individuals with disabilities, takes center stage in this venture.

This year's Seisha Festival saw the collaborative efforts extend further as the Ashizawa Seminar joined hands with the University's Children's Education Center to create a vibrant space on the 3rd floor of Solatio Square on the Hachioji Campus. Beyond the delectable offerings of bread and drinks, the stall evolved into the "Rabbit and Tortoise Terrace," offering not just sustenance but also a haven for the community. The Academic Lounge became a hub of activity, providing not only a place to indulge in freshly baked treats but also a welcoming space for families to relax. Children reveled in a play area designed just for them, creating an atmosphere brimming with laughter and joy. Moreover, the walls of the academic lounge transformed into a canvas for creativity, inviting attendees to express themselves through doodles, adding an extra layer of communal engagement. As the Ashizawa Seminar embraces the success of this year's collaborative venture, the commitment to active participation in Community Engagement projects remains unwavering. The "Rabbit and Tortoise Terrace" not only nourished the body but also nurtured a sense of community, embodying the spirit of togetherness that defines Teikyo University's ethos.
