Itabashi CampusProfessor Atsushi Yamashita Leads Pioneering Discovery in Cell Mediation

On May 16, 2023 (Tuesday), In a collaborative effort, leading scientists from Teikyo University, Kawasaki Medical School, Kagawa University, and Tokushima University, made a significant breakthrough on Tuesday. Professor Atsushi Yamashita, along with esteemed colleagues, uncovered the pivotal role of glycerophosphodiesterase 7 (GDE7), an enzyme of the lysophospholipase D-type, in generating cyclic phosphatidic acid (cPA), a crucial lipid mediator found within the endoplasmic reticulum of cells.
