On Saturday, March 18, the Teikyo Sports Supporters' Association organized a lecture event titled "Teikyo University Rugby Football Club Lecture: Secrets of Strength" at the Hachioji Campus of Teikyo University. The university's rugby team garnered significant attention after clinching their 11th championship in the 59th All-Japan University Rugby Football Championship, marking their second consecutive victory.The lecture commenced with a talk session featuring Chidai Matsuyama, former captain of the university's rugby team (Toyota Verblitz), and Kanya Takamoto, former vice-captain (Tokyo Suntory Sangria), along with rugby YouTuber Takashi Miura. The discussion revolved around the perspective of "contemplative rugby," shedding light on the underlying source of the team's strength and its newfound allure. Attendees were engrossed in the captivating insights, offering a rare glimpse into the team's inner workings. Furthermore, it was announced that for the 2023 season, Sosuke Era (4th year, Faculty of Medical Technology) will serve as the captain, with Shoichi Okinaga (4th year, Faculty of Medical Technology) and Koki Yamaguchi (4th year, Faculty of Medical Technology) as vice-captains. The event concluded with a raffle draw and a question-and-answer session, leaving the attendees thoroughly satisfied.
