Kasumigaseki CampusBridging Innovation: Empowering Sino-Japanese Economic Collaboration

Embracing a spirit of international cooperation, Teikyo University's Kasumigaseki Campus played host to the China Economic Symposium, focusing on "Decarbonization and Digitalization Innovations Amidst Escalating Geopolitical Risks." The symposium marked the fruitful culmination of collaborative research efforts between Japanese scholars, including faculty members of Teikyo University, and esteemed counterparts from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

In its fourth iteration, the symposium delved into the unfolding landscape of decarbonization and digitalization in both Japan and China under the aegis of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Participants earnestly examined the distinctive features and technological advancements characterizing this transformative period, while also exploring the potential for bilateral business synergies between the two nations. The event commenced with a warm welcome from Teikyo University's President and Chancellor, Yoshihito Okinaga, preceding a series of ten insightful presentations. Teikyo University's esteemed faculty members, including Professor Sishi Kaku and Professors Yosuke Tsuyuguchi and Eiji Horiuchi, along with Lecturer Kohei Mitsunami, expounded on various facets of innovation towards digitalization and decarbonization, rooted in their individual research themes. Following each lecture, an engaging question-and-answer session further enriched the discourse, enhancing the collective understanding of the future trajectory of Sino-Japanese economic cooperation. Mindful of the imperative to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the symposium seamlessly blended both in-person and online participation. A diverse assembly of over 70 participants, hailing from China, Australia, Thailand, and beyond, joined the symposium, contributing to its resounding success. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all attendees for their valuable insights and contributions. Teikyo University remains committed to disseminating the fruits of research to society at large, underlining its dedication to fostering global collaboration and knowledge exchange.
