Professor Naohisa Yanagihara, Department of Biosciences, Faculty of Science and Faculty of Science and Engineering, Teikyo University, succeeded in efficiently mineralizing ^TeflonTM, which was unsuitable for chemical recycling due to its excellent chemical and heat resistance. The results of this research have made it possible to recover CaF ₂, the main component of fluorite, from fluorine-based polymers, and are expected to be used for the construction of a recycling-oriented society.
