About suspension of recruitment of new students for the Teikyo Study Abroad Center The Japanese Language Course

Teikyo University has decided to suspend the recruitment of students for the Teikyo Study Abroad Center The Japanese Language Course from 2022.
This course was established in 1990 for international students aiming to enter Japanese universities and Graduate School. Design a curriculum using Japanese on the premise of studying a specialized field at a university or Graduate School, learn living Japanese through off-campus learning and discussion classes with Japanese students, and at university with sufficient Japanese proficiency The purpose is to develop human resources who can achieve results through their studies.

In recent years, however, the role and function of The Japanese Language Course in Japanese language education has been changing as numerous Japanese language institutes have been established in Japan and abroad, and the number of international students who enter the program with a certain level of Japanese language proficiency has been increasing. In addition, with the increase in the number of students who wish to work for Japanese companies, the University has decided to dissolve The Japanese Language Course and establish Center for Japanese language Education to further specialize in Japanese language and Japanese affairs education for undergraduate international students.
We will continue to enhance Japanese language courses for international students, centering on Center for Japanese language Education, and strive to nurture high-level foreign human resources with advanced Japanese language skills and knowledge of Japanese culture and society, who can play an active role in Japan and abroad.
