Ekiden (Road Relay) ClubThe Ekiden (Road Relay) Club reported the results of the Hakone Ekiden to Chairman and President Okinaga.

On Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Teikyo University Hachioji Campus, Ekiden (Road Relay) Club reported the results of the 98th Tokyo-Hakone Round-trip University Ekiden Race to the University's Chairman the Board and President Yoshihito Okinaga. Coach Takayuki Nakano introduced the students and explained that they had earned seeding rights for the fifth consecutive year by finishing 2nd in the university's first outing and 9th overall.

Captain Naoto Hashimoto (4th year, Faculty of Education), who has led the Ekiden (Road Relay) Club so far, said, "I felt like running in the 8th ward and doing my best for the team, but as a result I dropped the ranking and I still have regrets. However, since I will continue to compete in the future, I am proud to have served as the captain of Teikyo University, and I would like to make solid results for those who have grown up. "
Fuma Nakamura (4th year, Faculty of Medical Technology), who ran in the 2nd ward of the ace section, said, "I was nervous and scared before the race, but I wanted to run for the team. I was able to set a new Teikyo record. I was very happy about that and became confident that I would continue to compete in the future. "
Shouma Hosoya (4th year, Faculty of Medical Technology), who won the 5th ward section award for 2 consecutive years, said, "I didn't think about the section award and was conscious of running with the same feeling as last year. I was able to raise it, but I was disappointed that it was only 8 seconds before the new section record. "
Wataru Fukushima (1st year, Faculty of Medical Technology), who ran in the 7th ward, said, "I was nervous about the first Hakone Ekiden, but before the race I was looking forward to it and I was able to get off to a good start. However, as a result, I was disappointed that I was far from the goal of 3rd overall. Strong seniors will graduate, so I think that I am the one who fills the hole and I want to practice hard. " I heard a reliable word.

Chairman and President Okinaga, who was listening to the students, asked questions such as "Did you relax and run?" And "What was the reason why you couldn't run as expected?" To Captain Hashimoto, who said that he had regrets about his running, "I have to use that experience as a source of food for my life. I want you to look forward and use it as a foundation for running in the future." A powerful ale was sent.

Director Nakano said, "Mr. Hosoya's record for the 5th ward section for the second consecutive year has not been set for a while, and if there is no influence of the wind, he showed us a new section record. Mr. Nakamura showed the 2nd ward. It was a new record for Teikyo in the 4th place in the Japanese race. Mr. Hashimoto was in a difficult state to adjust, but he decided to participate at my discretion. Hakone Ekiden has a high degree of attention, and it is difficult to race in unusual situations. However, he worked hard at the practice at the university and gave the business team the ability to send it out proudly. " I did. And finally, there was a word to express gratitude, saying, "I really feel down to the students' hard work. I have endured well."

Chairman and President Okinaga, who listened to Director Nakano's words with a big nod, said, "Under the guidance of Director Nakano, I hope that you will continue to make effective use of the university's facilities and connect your juniors with a sash. I'm really happy that I've been able to win the seed right, and I'm really happy to be able to participate next year. I wish you all the best of luck. "
We look forward to your continued warm support for the Ekiden (Road Relay) Club of our university.
