On August 26, 2023 (Saturday),In a significant stride towards enhancing proficiency in dermatomycosis, the Japanese Society of Medical Mycology orchestrated the 10th Lecture for Dermatomycosis Instructors. This pivotal event unfolded on a Saturday, drawing together a distinguished cohort of professionals at the esteemed Medical Mycology Research Center, nestled within the Hachioji Campus of Teikyo University.

Distinguished Senior Assistant Professors and accomplished personnel from acclaimed institutions including Saitama Medical University Medical Center, Teikyo University Chiba Medical Center, Kanazawa Medical University Dermatology, Meiji Pharmaceutical University, and our own Medical Mycology Research Center, all esteemed members of the Japanese Society of Medical Mycology, took center stage as they imparted their invaluable expertise. The gathering witnessed the convergence of dermatology luminaries and laboratory technologists, hailing from various corners of the nation, united in their quest for mastery over the diagnosis and scrutiny of skin mycoses. Throughout the day, the event unfolded as a rich tapestry of illuminating lectures, each offering a distinctive vantage point on subjects ranging from fungal-induced skin ailments to the intricacies of KOH direct microscopy and fungal culture methodologies. Attendees were also privy to insights into morphological identification techniques deploying KOH direct microscopy, fungal culture approaches, slide culture methodologies, and tape procedures. The hands-on training, an integral component designed to equip attendees with practical skills in combating dermatomycosis, garnered high praise and commendation from all quarters. As a testament to their dedication and newfound proficiency, each participant was bestowed with a certificate of completion bearing the imprimatur of the Chairman of the Japanese Society of Medical Mycology. The Teikyo University Institute of Medical Mycology, committed to the advancement of research and educational pursuits in the realm of medical mycology, reaffirms its resolute commitment to this vital cause.
