We will stop recruiting students for the The Japanese Language Course from 2022. Click here for details
A Japanese language education program for international students who wish to enroll in our University or Graduate School.
In our Japanese Language Course, non-native Japanese students can study Japanese with ease; we will bring our support until they make progress. Since international students from all over the world come to study here, students can engage in friendly discussions with people from many different countries on campus. In this environment of ethnic diversity, students can not only improve their Japanese language skills, but also gain cross-cultural understanding and self-improvement.

Educational Goals and Our Three Policies
In accordance with the School Philosophy, the purpose of the Japanese Language Course is to train international students who wish to enroll in a university to be capable of achieving success in their studies at the university with sufficient Japanese language skills.
After a year of classes, students will not only improve their listening comprehension and be able to express what they want to convey, but also reach a level of understanding for university and graduate school classes.
Message from the Dean of The Japanese Language Course
Dean of The Japanese Language Course OGANE Masatomo
The purpose of The Japanese Language Course is to support international students through Japanese language education. The Japanese language education in this program has the following three features.
First, according to the level of Japanese language proficiency of international students, we divide them into small classes and provide detailed education by experienced faculty members. Secondly, with the aim of studying at university and Graduate School in mind, our purpose is to enable students "to study specialized fields in Japanese" rather than simply "to learn Japanese". To this end, we are devising educational methods, such as selecting teaching materials with a view to studying in a specialized field, according to the level of Japanese proficiency. Thirdly, we have created an environment where students can consult about their daily lives and going on to higher education through close communication between students and their faculty members in small classes.
We hope that international students will take advantage of the Japanese Language Course to improve the results of their studies in Japan.
