Engineering system society “ROBOLABO” participated in WRO

Engineering system society “ROBOLABO” (Robot Laboratory, Teikyo University, Utsunomiya Campus) attended WRO (World Robot Olympiad) on November 25 to 27, 2016. WRO is an international autonomous robot contest and it is organized contest in various countries every year. There is prejudging in more than 50 countries, and the winners from each country can compete in the international contest, which was held in New Delhi, India this year. ROBOLABO won first prize at the Japanese prejudging on August 27. Since joining WRO in 2015, they were chosen for the second consecutive year.

There are 4 categories in WRO, and ROBOLABO participated in the category of “Advanced Robotics Challenge.” In this category, their original robots competed in bowling. The programed robots grab bowling balls by themselves and knock down the pins.

ROBOLABO ranked Best 16 and they moved into the final. Unfortunately, they could not make it to the Best 8 this year. It is expected that ROBOLABO will participate more actively next year.
