Science and Engineering(Doctoral and Master's Degree Programs)

Division of General Engineering Science and Technology

Correspondence Course for Information Science

The Graduate School of Science and Engineering trains students who wish to pursue more advanced studies in the fields of science and technology than at the undergraduate level. While the Graduate School encourages its students to pursue studies in their respective fields of specialization, it also places emphasis on carrying out educational and research activities in an integrated manner, transcending the boundaries between departments and fields of specialization. In an effort to flexibly cope with the continuing rapid progress in the fields of science and technology, the Graduate School has adopted several measures. One is a skip system, which enables excellent undergraduate students to skip the fourth-year undergraduate curriculum and proceed to the Master's Program in order to begin their graduate studies early. Another is the admission of students with full-time jobs and students from abroad. A third is the active effort to use a system in which graduate students are assigned as teaching assistants.
