Department of Nursing

Starting from a vision of nursing from the global aspect of medical treatment, the aim of this program is to form an identity as a nursing specialist who can work in partnership with other medical professionals, to acquire advanced expertise and knowledge required for nursing, and to train professionals capable of sound and accurate judgment. In the specialist courses in the nursing lecture program, taken in the third and fourth years, areas currently attracting great attention in the fields of health care, medical treatment and welfare, such as gReproduction and Transplantation Treatment,h gCancer Nursing,h and gInternational Nursingh are offered. In the gNursing Ethicsh and gAdvanced Seminar,h which have a very small class size, personal instruction appropriate for each student is given on such topics as study skills for university students and career planning. Emphasis is placed on experience in university-related facilities, including Teikyo University Hospital, in order to study treatment, welfare, and health care in a borderless environment between the classroom, university, and hospital. The program as a whole is designed to aid students in attaining qualifications in nursing, health care, and midwifery, and to produce health care professionals who can carry out practical nursing appropriate to the special characteristics of a large variety of patients.
