Department of Education

With the addition of the Child Care Attendant Program, the possibility of studying a wide variety of fields with a view to pursuing a particular career following graduation, and for gaining various kinds of qualifications and licenses, has widened considerably, allowing students to select from a large number of future careers. A special feature of this department is that it is not heavily biased towards desk knowledge, but aims to develop practical abilities that can be applied in actual educational work situations through an appropriate combination of theory and practice, experimental work, and seminars. From the first year, volunteer activities and internships in elementary schools and special schools for the disabled offer an opportunity to work directly with children in actual work situations. Through participation in education and volunteer activities at Teikyo University Elementary School, and study in the Child Care Attendant Program, hands-on experience to acquire immediately applicable skills is emphasized through practical guidance, which sets aside as much time as possible for interaction with elementary school students.
