Department of Economics

Departent of Economics

The curriculum of the Department of Economics emphasizes practical study, with lecturers invited from both business and bureaucracy. Lectures are inductive, taking themes from actual economic activities to explain and clarify their principles and theory. The economics curriculum rests on two pillars; empirical analysis for direct understanding of the current Japanese economy, and general theoretical analysis of the Japanese economy. Each year, from the first to fourth year, these aspects are studied simultaneously. At the same time, students will deepen their specialist knowledge of economics as they progress through the course. Using a career-oriented curriculum designed to help students visualize their future after graduation, their reasoning skills, imagination, and a healthy sense of competition will be developed. The Department will also help students plan their future professional development.
